Waiting for Spring Canvas Painting Collection

A collection of paintings embodying the anticipation of waiting for spring and the chance for change, renewal, freshness and vibrant beauty

15 Original Pieces

The first hint that that spring is ready to break through the clutches of winter, is when the soft morning light is allowed in earlier. There’s a refreshing sense of optimism in the landscape. Clouds form thick with the possibility of rain, trees that sway in the wind rustle with the youthful voices of young leaves, and the fields begin their overhaul, their internal renovation, to get ready to speak with vibrant and bright, uplifting voices.

“It is the endless possibilities of a new season that make us wait in wonder.”

 Collection Notes

The Waiting for Spring collection comes from a place of joy and appreciation that there’s always another chance for beauty, renewal and change. It’s the reassuring process of this sacred cycle in nature that whispers the promise to whomever wants to listen. But you will need to wait, and endure the cold winter first, before you can grow and bloom again.

This is a collection of landscapes that was so freeing to create. Inspiration from my surrounding landscape led to envisioning it in spring, when the greens will be lush and the wildflowers show off in colorful flair. Waiting for Spring will truly nurture the imagination with a boldness that balances with romanticism through the use of color – soft, dusky peaches and pinks, and vibrant greens and yellows. It’s grounding yet dreamy in its depiction of alluring skies, blooming plains and simplistic countryside scenes dotted with a few trees.

Waiting for Spring was painted with the intention to bring playfulness, upliftment and vibrant beauty into your home. Any piece from this collection will shine with its own unique energy and subtly speak its mind into the new space its placed in.

“Everyone needs a place to bloom, just like the wildflowers after winter's tumultuous rain storms.”

 Palette and Textures

The Waiting for Spring collection is different from previous collections as all pieces were painted on canvas. There’s something about the raw texture of cotton canvas that brings another element to a piece. The texture lends itself to creating a literal and figurative undertone of roughness below the beauty of the artwork itself, showing that the process of creating something new can be tedious work.

Whimsical clouds take shape in powdery blues and pinks with large brush strokes for that puffy effect.

The abstract landscapes illuminates in a spectrum of tangerine and bright greens. Muted, muddy midtones of ocher and olive livens up the pastel highlights painted in dawny pinks and dusky peach.

The colors of the flowers are solid in rose and yellow, with some pieces including small gold details in the fields.
